Niyogyugan Festival : Tourism and Commercial

To memorialize the Ama ng Wikang Pambansa, Manuel L. Quezon; the provincial government of Quezon held its first Agri-Tourism Trade Fair. The first Niyogyugan Festival was held at Tayabas Capitol featuring the different municipalities of Quezon in terms of booths, symbols, and products using coconut as its primary product, last August 2012.

For the last 5 years, the festival was not only known for its proficiency, but also its captivating styles of booths. It became a major way to boost tourist arrivals. People from different places here in the Philippines travel miles just to visit the “home of colorful festivals in the region” as the Quezonians claim it.

The festival is proud to welcome 200,000 tourists who go there each year, not only for how famous it is all over the country but also for and how the Quezonians show the use of the coconut in different ways.

Not only that,  Quezon Province is the largest producer of coconut products. Since 2010, our province distributed 56.36% of coconuts all over the country.

That is one of the reasons why every year the festival was visited by people. Also, the famous coconut products like; lambanog, copra, and coconut oil are surely supported by people who make an effort to join the coconut celebration.

Niyogyugan Festival is not only just for attractions, it also shows how useful the coconut is not just only for the Quezonians but for all the Filipinos. It shows its usefulness in terms of booth buildings, furniture, foods and other products that can help us. It also shows how great the Quezonians are and how hospitable we are when it comes to tourists.
