Cooperative endeavour at QNHS, executed

Local barangay leaders of Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City unite in school-based Bayanihan after Typhoon Glenda devastated Quezon National High School (QNHS)

Up to 10 garbage trucks were shipped from scattered branches of acacia, shrubs and other plants inside the school; as well as flood-proof wastes, broken glass and more.

Glenda’s damage to QNHS was estimated at 100,000 to 150,000, particularly in school facilities such as classroom walls and windows, power lines, mudslides, and other damage.

The cleanup was in response to Executive Order No. 08, a 2014  series released by Governor David ‘Jay Jay’ Suarez last July 23, 2018.

The EO includes a directive that requires the local government to have a comprehensive clean-up of schools in the province. "Babangon tayo, kaya natin ito”, the slogan printed in the governor's shirt as he visited Glenda's damaged schools.
